Md. Hafizur Rahman

Md. Hafizur Rahman is a distinguished development professional, educator, and social activist with more than two decades of leadership in Bangladesh’s education and development sectors. Throughout his career, he has combined grassroots engagement with institutional leadership, advancing initiatives in education, community welfare, women’s empowerment, health, and cultural development.

Early Contributions and Leadership

Mr. Rahman was the Founding Chairman of the Child Education Development and Welfare Organization (CEDWO), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting quality education and child development in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, CEDWO introduced scholarship programs to reduce dropout rates and enhance student competitiveness.

In 1997, he participated in the Second South Asian Conference of the CBR Network on “Community-Based Rehabilitation for the Disabled: Today and Tomorrow.” He also pioneered youth-focused programs by creating opportunities for unemployed young people through vocational and computer training. His innovative initiative, Probinchaya, established workspaces for vulnerable senior citizens, enabling them to contribute economically, alongside literacy programs for the elderly.

From 1992 to 2003, Mr. Rahman served as the Founding Principal of Child Heaven Pre-Cadet International Residential School, where he introduced a balanced curriculum combining academic excellence with extracurricular activities. The program emphasized intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development.

Eakok Attomanobik Unnayan Sangstha (EAKOK)

In 1999, Mr. Rahman co-founded Eakok Attomanobik Unnayan Sangstha, driven by a strong commitment to social justice and humanitarian values. As Founding Member and current Vice President, he has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s vision and expanding its programs in education, health, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment. With foresight and dedication, he continues to provide strategic direction to ensure Eakok remains a leading force for sustainable social change.

Professional Experience

Alongside his development work, Mr. Rahman has extensive experience in the construction sector, spanning over 25 years in monitoring and supervisory roles on various projects. From 2016 to 2023, he served as Director of Administration at Mood Trading Company, where he collaborated with IRCON International Limited is a railway engineering and construction company of the Government of India, operating under the Ministry of Railways of the Central Government and Bangladesh Auto Industries a Bangladesh- China cohabited electrical motor vehicle

From 2012 to 2016, he also worked as a Senior Staff Reporter at Visual Bangladesh, a monthly magazine. His engagement with media, construction, and development projects reflects his multidimensional expertise.

Cultural and Social Engagement

Mr. Rahman has been deeply involved in cultural development, organizing and participating in programs that nurture student creativity through music, drama, poetry, painting, and Qur’anic training for Muslim students. A registered songwriter with Bangladesh Television since 2012, he has contributed lyrics to cultural productions. He also served as Senior Vice Chairman of Amra Pallabibashi, a social welfare organization.

As a lifetime member of the Bangladesh-India Friendship Society, he has participated in multiple international seminars and meetings, including:

Born in 1954 in Muksudpur, Dohar, Dhaka, he hails from a respected Muslim family. His father, Mr. Helal Uddin, was a government service holder, and his mother, Mst. Firuza Begum, was a dedicated homemaker and social worker. Mr. Rahman is married and blessed with two daughters.
