Md. Abdul Wahed is the Founder and Executive Director of Eakok Attomanobik Unnayan Sangstha, a non-governmental organization committed to promoting human development, social justice, and inclusive progress in Bangladesh. His leadership reflects more than three decades of experience in the development sector, with expertise spanning grassroots initiatives to senior-level management in nationally and internationally recognized NGOs.
Mr. Wahed began his career in 1991 as a Supervisor at ASA Bangladesh, one of the country’s pioneering microfinance institutions. His dedication, leadership, and managerial skills led to his promotion as Assistant General Manager, a post he held until November 2000. During his tenure, he contributed significantly to the growth and expansion of ASA’s microfinance and community development programs.
Following this, he served in senior management positions at the BASA Foundation and DISHA NGO, where he played a vital role in strengthening institutional systems, project design, monitoring frameworks, and staff capacity building. Across these roles, he demonstrated strong strategic management, crisis response, and programmatic leadership.

Mr. Wahed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Honors) from Rajshahi University (1988) and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the same institution (1990).

Born in 1963 in Belgachhi, Chuadanga Municipality, Chuadanga District, Mr. Wahed was raised in a family that valued public service and social responsibility. His father, Mr. Abdul Latif, was a government official, and his mother, Mahmuda Khatun, was both a homemaker and a dedicated social worker who inspired him to pursue a life of service.
