The purpose of the project: a) Assess and collect baseline data on school zone road safety situation using focus group discussion, key informant interviews, observation and iRAP school assessment method and to design an advocacy plan for improvement of the school zone to minimum 3 stars. b) Advocacy program for demarcation of residential and education areas as 30 km zone. c) In residential area of Dhaka City Corporation on a particular day of the week declared as Car Free Day. d) Creating opportunities for children to play sports on certain roads in residential areas of the city on car-free days e) Installation of 30km/h speed sign in areas adjacent to educational institutions. f) Establishing bicycle lanes on city streets. g) Celebrated UN Global Road Safety Week. h) Celebrated National Road Safety Week. | |||||

Celebrated UN Global Road Safety Week 2023
With the support of Global Alliance NGOs for Road safety (Switzerland) Organization is con tenuously celebrating Global UN Road safety Week from 2022.
On the occasion of UN World Road Safety Week-2022, Eakok organized a round table meeting on 21/05/22. Alliance members, Representatives of BRTA, Road & Highway, Representatives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Director ARI, Chairman BRTC, Sectary Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation was present in Meeting.
On the occasion of UN World Road Safety Week-2022, Eakok organized a Road Show establishing 30 km speed limit in urban areas at Manik Mia Avenue, Located in front of National Parliament House of Bangladesh. More than 100 alliance members, celebrity, students Representatives of BRTA, Road & Highway & DC Traffic West Zone was present. Chief Guest of the event was Tanvir Hasan Soto Monir, Honorable Member of Parliament.
